Linux Mint

Before spending capital on replacing old office computers, consider this option:

Aging desktops (and laptops)  can be revived in under an hour’s time by wiping them clean and loading one of the latest consumer-friendly Linux distributions. Mint is my current favorite, which I have running on several production machines alongside my Windows 7 boxes. Linux Mint is an open source (free) operating system,  very user friendly, and includes a full menu of productivity tools, including Libre Office which is compatible with MS Office files.

A fresh Mint install will typically have an old desktop running clean and crisp, using the latest Firefox and Chrome browsers. Both Mac and PC users can easily use Mint without any training. For business owners trying to control costs, installing Mint provides a great solution for extending the life of their existing machines.
