I started BLKINC in 1988 to help level the playing field for small businesses competing with regional and national firms. Prior to BLKINC, I worked for advanced technology start-ups in the positions of controller, contract administrator, and finance manager. These early-year work experiences required direct reporting, collaboration, and planning with ownership groups and shareholders.

I currently work and reside in Edmonds, Washington. My wife, Margaret Kulkin, is also a business owner, providing educational services through Northwest K-8 Learning Support, Inc. Our twenty-three year old daughter lives nearby and works as a counselor in the chemical dependency/mental health treatment field.
